At the Montenvers terminus we decided to go directly to the Ice Cave and rode the 4-person cable car to the lower station. From there, WOW, the steps down to the Grotte de Glace present a challenge, especially for anyone in less than good physical shape. They claim 550+ steps each way, almost like climbing to the 2nd Floor of the Eiffel Tower!
